AUGUST 2, 2016 – In recognition of the firm's high numbers of women in leadership positions, family-friendly policies, and success in retaining and promoting women lawyers, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has been named one of the country's 50 Best Law Firms for Women by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers. This is the firm's third consecutive year on the list.

Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers co-founded the Best Law Firms for Women initiative in 2007. The annual list recognizes firms that lead the industry in supporting women's business development and career advancement, as well as offering flexible work arrangements, generous parental leave policies, and other important benefits.

Thanks to their outstanding skills and a firm culture of inclusion, women occupy many substantial leadership positions at Davis Wright Tremaine. These include serving as chair of the firm's Executive Committee, chair of the Share Committee, partners-in-charge in New York and Los Angeles, and chair or co-chair of several of the firm's top practice areas.

To ensure that women continue to flourish at Davis Wright Tremaine, the firm has recently revamped its benefits, practices, and policies to promote better work-life balance and greater career satisfaction. These changes included creation of a new Counsel status available to senior associates, expanded opportunities for reduced-hour or part-time arrangements, and adoption of a formal policy allowing for flexible schedules and telecommuting.

The firm has also brought its offsite Women's Summit series to multiple cities, providing an open forum for young women lawyers at DWT to make connections with women partners and discuss topics of importance to them, such as business-client development and the partnership process.

Davis Wright Tremaine's other recent honors include Gold Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, a nationally recognized educational venue for women in the largest law firms and corporate law departments. The firm was one of just six nationwide to meet all of the Forum's 2016 Gold Certification benchmarks.

The firm's commitment to advancing women extends beyond the walls of the firm and includes Project W, a multi-faceted initiative to help women in the economy at large further their careers, achieve parity in the workplace, and improve their lives.
