AUGUST 29, 2019Peter Anderson, a partner in the Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, is featured in Billboard magazine's 2019 list of Top Music Lawyers.

Mr. Anderson "has litigated some of the biggest copyright infringement claims of the past few years," Billboard noted.

His recent successes include winning dismissal of a $25 million copyright suit against Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, and others, over the song, "Spark the Fire." He is currently defending separate copyright infringement claims arising from the introduction to Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven," Taylor Swift's 2014 hit "Shake It Off," and "Starboy" by The Weeknd.

In addition to his extensive work in music and motion picture copyright cases, Mr. Anderson represents clients in entertainment matters that include breach of contract, tortious interference, trademark, and fraud claims.

Mr. Anderson earned his B.A. and his J.D. at UCLA. He was identified as a Top IP Litigator by the Daily Journal in 2016 and has been named to the Southern California "Super Lawyers" list each of the past 14 years.
