APRIL 28, 2020 – Davis Wright Tremaine's continued success in building market-leading practices has been recognized in the latest Chambers USA guide, which named Davis Wright Tremaine a nationwide leader in five key practice areas and awarded the firm a regional Band 1 ranking in 16 more.

Chambers rankings are based on research gathered through extensive in-depth interviews with in-house counsel, industry experts, and distinguished private practice attorneys. Lawyers and practice teams are assessed for "technical ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client."

Highlights of this year's Chambers rankings include the following:

  • Davis Wright Tremaine was newly spotlighted as a national leader in Privacy & Data Security: Healthcare—an area of ongoing strategic focus for the firm.
  • Chambers awarded Band 1 rankings to more than 20 individual DWT lawyers. Half of those honorees are women. One DWT woman lawyer also was given Chambers' "Star" ranking, its highest honor.
  • The firm's preeminence in First Amendment Litigation was again recognized, with more DWT lawyers nationally ranked in this practice area than any firm in the country.
  • Reflecting Davis Wright's substantive and geographic depth, Chambers listed a total of 94 DWT lawyers across 33 practice areas and eight offices as leading lawyers for business.
  • The firm was again recognized for national leadership in Advertising: Transactional & Regulatory; Food & Beverages: Alcohol; and Franchising.
  • The firm was newly recognized in Washington state for Healthcare and Tax and in Oregon for Employee Benefits and Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use.
  • Twenty-two DWT lawyers were newly added or elevated in the rankings. The firm's results were also strengthened with the addition during the past year of two Chambers-ranked laterals in, respectively, Financial Services Regulation and Energy (Regulatory & Litigation).
