MAY 21, 2021– Davis Wright Tremaine's continued success in building market-leading practices has been recognized in the latest Chambers USA guide, which named Davis Wright Tremaine a nationwide leader in nine key practice areas and awarded the firm a regional Band 1 ranking in 19 more.
Chambers rankings are based on research gathered through extensive in-depth interviews with in-house counsel, industry experts, and distinguished private practice attorneys. Lawyers and practice teams are assessed for "technical ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client."
Highlights of this year's Chambers rankings include the following:
- Reflecting Davis Wright's substantive and geographic depth, Chambers listed a total of 106 DWT lawyers across 43 practice areas and eight offices as leading lawyers for business.
- Chambers awarded its Band 1 ranking to more than two dozen individual DWT lawyers. More than a third of those are women.
- The firm's rising national profile was reflected in the Chambers nationwide rankings, where the firm added four additional practices, including Food & Beverages (Regulatory & Litigation). Davis Wright's food and beverage team is now the only one in the country ranked in both of Chambers' nationwide categories covering this industry.
- The firm again dominated the tables for First Amendment Litigation, with more DWT lawyers nationally ranked in this area than any other firm. The firm is also home to one of only two "Star" practitioners (Chambers' highest designation) in this area.
- Chambers highlighted Davis Wright's preeminence in Washington state, where the firm is ranked in more practice areas, and has more lawyers recognized for excellence, than any other firm.
- Thirty-one DWT lawyers were newly added or elevated in the rankings. The firm's results were also strengthened with the recent addition of Chambers-ranked laterals in Healthcare, Energy, and Technology.
