JANUARY 20, 2023 — Kelli Sager, a media and entertainment partner in Davis Wright Tremaine LLP's Los Angeles office, has been appointed by 9th Circuit Chief Judge Mary Murguia to the Advisory Board of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Sager is recognized as one of the top First Amendment attorneys in the country by Chambers USA. She has more than 35 years of experience representing news outlets, filmmakers, and other media companies and professionals. Sager has argued many cases before the 9th Circuit, which is the country's largest federal appeals circuit, as well as other federal and state appellate courts. She has served on several 9th Circuit committees, including its Public Information and Community Outreach Committee, and in 2008 was chair of the Circuit Conference Committee. Sager also has served in leadership roles for many media-related advisory committees, bar associations, and nonprofits. Sager's new appointment to the Advisory Board is for a three-year term.
