JUNE 18, 2024 – In a new report evaluating the role of the legal industry in addressing the climate crisis, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP was one of just seven firms nationwide that received an "A" grade, recognizing the firm's leadership in helping clients transition to renewable energy.

The 2024 Law Firm Climate Change Scorecard is an in-depth analysis of climate-related work handled by 100 of the country's largest and most prestigious law firms. The report examines five years of data on litigation, transactions, and lobbying, and grades firms on how much their work is helping to curtail, or exacerbate, climate change. The majority of firms received grades of "D" or "F."

"Our attorneys not only understand the transformation of the energy sector but are committed to lead the change," said Sean Atkins, co-chair of the energy, natural resources, and environmental practice team at Davis Wright Tremaine. "We're grateful to our clients for embracing innovation and we thank the Law Students for Climate Accountability for their leadership in seeking to influence the legal industry on the most critical issue of our time."
