02.05.18
The FCBA Intellectual Property Committee will sponsor a CLE in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, February 7 from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. entitled “ISP Responsibilities Under Copyright and the DMCA.”
John Seiver will be speaking on the panel “How to Handle Repeat Infringers,” which will go depth on what it means for an ISP to terminate “repeat infringers,” both in terms of the legal questions (including the 4th Circuit’s recent reversal of BMG’s $25 million contributory infringement verdict), when and how ISPs need to terminate “repeat infringers,” what “repeat infringer” means, best practices, and the implications for users who might find themselves cut off from an essential service.
