On Monday, April 23rd, Mobile Monday DC hosted a discussion focused on mobile payments and commerce. The event, which was held at Davis Wright Tremaine’s Washington, D.C. office, featured a distinguished group of panelists from the communications, financial services, and legal industries, including:

For an audience of more than 80 members of the DC mobile community, the panel addressed a range of topics that included:

  • The definition of mobile payments and mobile commerce
  • What it will take to ignite the adoption of mobile payment and mobile commerce platforms by consumers and retailers
  • Which players and what technologies will come out on top: banks or carriers? NFC or cloud?
  • The role of traditional payment networks in the mobile space
  • Privacy and security concerns
  • Hot trends in mobile commerce for retailers
