With modest beginnings as a small family business in the 1990s, Viewpoint Construction Software now boasts 450 employees and approaching annual revenues of $100 million, making it one of Portland’s fastest growing tech companies. Serving the global construction marketplace, Viewpoint has put in place some important business fundamentals that can be a model for any business.

In this second program of the 2013 Family Business Study Group Series, we heard from Jay Haladay, CEO of Viewpoint, about how they continue to grow the business at 50% per year while keeping the family energized about their involvement in the company, and the potential for a future IPO.

With roots in the construction software business that date back to 1983, Jay is a consistent innovator in applying leading-edge technologies to address the industry's unique business problems. In early 2013 Jay was named "Technology Executive of the Year" by the Technology Association of Oregon for his commitment to building a culture of collaboration and helping the company achieve significant revenue growth over the past five years.
