As part of this WSPLA event, DWT associate Greg Rosenthal gave a virtual presentation designed to:

  • Define and discuss some of the major differences between US and EP examination (e.g., Art. 123(2) EPC, clarity and Art. 84, Art 56, priority, and the problem-solution approach) and legal scrutiny (e.g., oppositions, national law differences)
  • Provide examples of most common mistakes or challenges for US applicants, and provide solutions
  • Present best practices for avoiding issues in Europe and optimizing patent protection
