In honor of Earth Day, the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion held this discussion as part of our regular DEI Education series.

Our speaker, Marcelo Bonta, discusses his work educating people on the connection between diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and how to effectively support environmental foundations. Bonta has spent over two decades discussing and facilitating systemic DEI change processes through coaching and educational tool creation. His organization, J.E.D.I. Heart, focuses on the importance of interrupting existing systems and providing tools to foster better experiences between people of color and environmental organizations.

This discussion is moderated by Amy Franklin, DEI Senior Engagement Manger, and member of the DWT Sustainability Committee, as well as Barrie Handy, Social Impact Senior Manager. The group also touches on the importance of providing training and support for leaders in the environmental space and creating a safe network for leaders to "survive, thrive, lead, and innovate."
