We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Emily Baum, who has joined us as Project W Program Director. Emily will be overseeing all our programming – working with investors, advisors, and founders in our network to create impactful and actionable curriculum and to make meaningful connections that empower underrepresented founders to achieve their full potential and build great companies.
Emily is a fixture in the New York tech ecosystem and well known to many in the Project W community. She has lived every part of the ecosystem: technologist, founder, investor, and educator. She comes to us from NYU, where she led investments for the NYU Innovation Venture Fund and programming for the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute at the Leslie eLab. She continues to teach Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship at the NYU Stern School of Business.
Prior to her program work at NYU, Emily was the curriculum designer for the Citrix Innovators Program and Design Thinking at the Citrix Startup Accelerator, and she founded and ran Reboot Democracy, an ecosystem for startups building technology to strengthen democracy.
But Emily is not all about tech. In addition to her MBA and MS in Engineering Management, Emily minored at USC in musical theater (alongside neuroscience). She has the distinction of being the only woman in the acclaimed New York City Gay Men’s Chorus.
Under Emily’s leadership, we are excited to continue to develop impactful programming and to provide essential resources to fill the white space of opportunities for female founders in the tech ecosystem.
