After receiving her Ph.D. in Nanoscience, Mahsa Vazin joined Impossible Foods as one of the company's early scientists conducting R&D on plant-based alternatives to meat and poultry. Mahsa embraced the company's mission of enabling consumers to eat the foods they love while doing their part to foster a healthier planet.
The epiphany that led Mahsa on her current mission came when she adopted her beloved dog, Paco. Why couldn't she deploy her scientific expertise and experience at Impossible Foods to create food products that Paco would love and that would reduce carbon emissions? That's when PawCo Foods was born. Pawco's mission is to offer healthy and nutritious pet food for different tastes and budgets.
Since launching PawCo Foods three years ago, here's how Mahsa and her team have improved the health of our planet:
- 280,000,000 liters of water conserved
- 935,000 kg of CO2 emissions reduced
- 1200+ livestock lives saved
All while serving 300,000 meals to dogs, generating $1,000,000 in revenue, and raising $2,000,000 from top VCs.
As Mahsa says: "The future is bright for us and our furry friends! As we look towards the future, the focus is clear: offering a healthy and complete diet that doesn't compromise sustainability or animal welfare."
