Breaking Down Barriers in the Corporate World: Women Allocators, Funders and Corporate Leaders Driving Change
Project W joined forces with Marissa Zifrony and Melissa Dunn of J.P. Morgan and Liz Harrow and Jesse Haines of SHAKTI to host a dinner for over two dozen women on October 28. Bringing together women leaders in the investment and corporate worlds, the evening was aimed at building relationships and sharing insights on how to advance gender equity in the corporate world. To inspire conversation and action, the evening kicked off with a discussion, moderated by Liz Harrow, among Dana Kanze, who has conducted groundbreaking research on gender bias in the corporate and venture ecosystems, Mindy Grossman, the former CEO of WW (formerly Weight Watchers) and of HSNi (Home Shopping Network), and Sarah Ahmad, CEO and Co-Founder of Sable. The discussion highlighted the importance of leading with empathy, active listening, and vulnerability–traits common to women–and of building a network of men and women allies who can support you on your journey.
The women at the table – investors at family offices and at funds of funds, strategic investors, venture fund managers, and corporate leaders – are using the power of their institutional pocketbooks and their leadership positions to drive positive change. Project W was thrilled to be part of this impactful evening.
