New York Employment and Labor Law Seminar 2026

A member of the firm's employment services practice, Godfre Orion Blackman advises employers on complex employment litigation, regulatory enforcement, and sensitive workplace matters, with particular experience at the intersection of employment law and public-facing risk.

Godfre represents employers in high-stakes litigation across federal, state, and local forums, with experience spanning trial-level litigation through appellate advocacy, including matters before federal district courts, the Second Circuit, and administrative agencies. His practice includes defending claims involving discrimination, retaliation, labor relations, wage and hour, and employment-related torts.

In addition to litigation, Godfre regularly conducts sensitive internal investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, advising employers on risk assessment, remediation, and defensibility. He also advises on prelitigation strategies and dispute resolutions. He has significant experience advising employers on DEI-related matters, including monitoring and interpreting rapidly evolving laws and enforcement trends affecting workplace policies, programs, and communications, and has led teams tracking legal developments affecting workplace DEI programs and policies.

Earlier in his career, Godfre gained substantial public interest and public sector experience, including with the Legal Defense Fund as a Voting Rights Fellow and as an intern in the Office of the Prosecutor Trial Team at The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia at The Hague. He currently serves as Secretary of the Federal Bar Council's Employment Litigation Committee and is a 2021 National Employment Law Council Fellow.
