Jack Chang advises clients on intellectual property strategy, patent prosecution, as well as global portfolio management across advanced technology sectors including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, neural networks, fintech, robotics, wearable technologies, cloud computing, wireless systems, and drone technologies. He works closely with innovators and engineering teams to translate complex technical developments into practical IP protection aligned with business objectives and long term portfolio strategy.
Jack drafts and prosecutes patent applications in the United States and internationally and manages foreign inbound and outbound patent portfolios for companies with global operations. He regularly coordinates with foreign counsel and international agents to implement efficient international filing strategies and help companies shape and expand their patent portfolios as their products evolve.
In addition to patent prosecution, Jack advises clients on intellectual property licensing, brand management, and commercial IP strategy. He helps companies identify and pursue new licensing opportunities for their brands and products, connecting clients with potential partners and negotiating agreements that expand market reach. His licensing work includes consumer products such as clothing, accessories, stationery, and party goods, particularly for brands and character properties targeting toddler through adolescent audiences.
