Jeremy Chase is an experienced litigator with a passion for counseling content creators on media, intellectual property, and internet law. He has successfully litigated cases in both state and federal courts involving libel, invasion of privacy, SLAPP, copyright, trademark, right-of-publicity, reporters' shield laws, and news-gathering issues. Jeremy represents book, magazine, and newspaper publishers; television networks; record labels; documentary film companies; and a wide array of Internet content and service providers, including the operators of blogs and other online publications; streaming platforms; and the publishers of news, health, technology, and travel websites.
Jeremy seeks to understand clients' businesses thoroughly and shapes legal strategies to fit their competitive goals. As but one example, Jeremy counsels media clients such as The New York Post, Vox Media, Slate, Vice, Rolling Stone, Straus Newspapers, SB Nation, Slate, Quartz, Defector, and A&E on all manner of prepublication issues. Adopting a practical strategy through years of working in newsrooms, Jeremy's focus is on getting truthful and newsworthy information out to the public, and he prides himself on shepherding content through the legal process for publication.
