Barry has more than 30 years' experience litigating complex commercial matters in the New York state and federal courts and in arbitration forums across the country. He is also a mediator handling private mediations and serving on several federal and New York state court panels. His mediation experience enables him to better see all sides of a litigation dispute, strategically assess the strengths and weaknesses of a matter, and achieve quick, cost-saving resolutions.
Barry was a partner at McGonigle, P.C., before the firm combined with Davis Wright Tremaine.
Barry has successfully mediated to settlement dozens of litigations, including employment discrimination cases, wage and hour cases under the FLSA and New York State and New York City law, civil rights actions, ADA cases, commercial matters, and personal injury matters.
Barry has more than 25 years' experience representing creditors, trustees, and debtors in a wide variety of litigation matters in the United States Bankruptcy Courts, and mediating bankruptcy matters.
Barry has defended mortgage originators in residential mortgage-backed securities cases pending in federal and state courts involving billions of dollars in claims and myriad novel legal issues.
