Meenakshi Krishnan counsels and defends news media, entertainment, and technology clients in high-stakes defamation, copyright, and First Amendment matters, from prelitigation counseling all the way through trial. In her litigation practice, Meenakshi has defended prominent media and entertainment clients in headline-making defamation and copyright lawsuits arising from their reporting and content, in state and federal courts across the country. On the counseling side, Meenakshi provides pre-publication and pre-broadcast review for newsrooms, journalists, streaming services, studios, and production companies across the entire spectrum of content, including news reporting, podcasts, films, and television series. Whether litigating or counseling, Meenakshi helps journalists and creators navigate complex legal issues while protecting their ability to report, publish, and tell stories.

Meenakshi joined DWT after stints as a legal fellow at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University and a judicial clerk for the Hon. James A. Wynn, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
