Maureen Lawther has more than 25 years of experience as an immigration paralegal, in both law firm and corporate settings. She has a wide range of experience preparing business immigration petitions and applications, including work visas, PERM applications and the green card process for skilled and managerial employees. She is thorough, efficient, and responsive and serves as an effective “right hand” to the attorneys in the practice.

Practice Highlights

  • Nonimmigrant Visas: Preparation and filing of all nonimmigrant petition types, including H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, Blanket L-1, O-1, E-2, E-3 and TN.
  • Green Card Process: Preparation and filing of employment and family-based petitions, including the PERM application process, multinational manager/executives, extraordinary ability/outstanding researchers, and marriage-based petitions. Assist clients through the adjustment of status or consular processing stage of the green card process with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and embassies/consulates abroad.
  • Visa Application Processing Abroad: Assist clients with full nonimmigrant visa application process at U.S. consulates worldwide.
  • Naturalization: Assist clients with the preparation and filing of their applications for U.S. citizenship.
  • J-1 Exchange Visitors: Facilitate the setup of J-1 programs, and assist with J-1 visa application and entry for participants.
  • I-9 Audit Review: The firm has extensive experience with guiding clients through audit or review of internal I-9 documentation to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Waiver Process: Assist clients with documentation and procedures for preparing and submitting applications for waiver of inadmissibility.
