Kelechi Okengwu

Kelechi Okengwu is dedicated to helping her clients convey their story in the most convincing manner possible. Her practice centers on complex commercial litigation and government investigations, representing clients in disputes involving fraud, technology, securities, contracts, and employee misconduct. She handles matters from pre-suit investigations through resolution, regularly serving as the primary point of contact in cases with significant financial and operational risk. She has overseen internal investigations and government inquiries, prepared corporate witnesses, and engaged directly with regulators in high visibility matters. She manages multidisciplinary teams, oversees discovery and expert development, and drives strategy throughout each matter she handles.

Kelechi also counsels clients on cybersecurity incident response, data privacy compliance, and AI governance questions that are reshaping the landscape of corporate liability. She holds certification as an Information Privacy Professional (U.S. Private Sector).

Prior to joining Davis Wright Tremaine, Kelechi worked for nationally and internationally recognized law firms. She also clerked for the Hon. Marcia G. Cooke of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Kelechi has been recognized as a National Black Lawyer Top 40 Under 40 and by Marquis' Who's Who. She volunteers with Read to a Child, because she understands that how a story is told—and who gets to hear it—matters everywhere, not just in a courtroom.
