James E. Oliver Jr.
Attorney
Jim Oliver knows what it's like to be in a client's shoes from being there himself. With over 25 years of holistic knowledge of the insurance industry–as a former insurance defense attorney (outside counsel), former in-house counsel for two insurers, and as a previously licensed insurance broker for property and casualty insurance–Jim understands the complicated relationships between insured, insurer, and outside defense counsel.
While serving as in-house counsel, Jim oversaw the retention and supervision of outside defense counsel. He has experience with a broad range of insurance-related claims and matters, including insurance defense, insurance coverage, insurance regulatory advice, E&O/Professional Liability, enforcement of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, construction defect and coverage claims, environmental coverage claims, as well as all manner of premises liability, personal injury, employer's liability, auto, and commercial claims.
With all that in mind, Jim dedicates himself to resolving the pain points he knows all too well by providing actionable risk management advice. Jim is also routinely retained to serve as an arbitrator (private and court-annexed) and as a mediator in a variety of cases, as well as a Neutral Umpire in first-party property insurance disputes.
