Alexandra Perloff-Giles is a member of the firm's media and entertainment practice group. A seasoned trial and appellate litigator in both state and federal court, Alexandra has represented clients in high-stakes commercial litigation and has secured numerous wins in significant media cases, including in defamation, First Amendment, press freedom, and other high-profile disputes. Named "One to Watch" in entertainment and sports law by Best Lawyers, Alexandra has defended prominent networks, producers, musicians, authors, and others in the entertainment space.

Before joining DWT, Alexandra was a litigator at a global firm. She previously clerked for the Hon. Marsha S. Berzon on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and in 2019-2020 served as the First Amendment Fellow for The New York Times, providing pre-publication review and litigating FOIA, libel, and First Amendment cases on behalf of the storied newspaper company. The co-author of the Lexology chapter on Defamation & Reputation Management in the United States, Alexandra also served as a media representative on the federal FOIA Advisory Committee, a position to which she was appointed by the Archivist of the United States. Alexandra teaches classes on law and the arts at Columbia University and at the Cardozo School of Law.
