Sam Taxy works on banking and financial services matters, bringing a wealth of experience from his tenure at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where he investigated cutting-edge consumer financial issues and litigated complex civil suits in federal court. While at the CFPB, he specialized in payments, including domestic, international, and digital transfers. He leverages his CFPB enforcement experience to counsel clients on compliance, regulatory, and litigation challenges in the banking, lending, and payments space.
Sam previously served as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. During law school, Sam was a research assistant to the Honorable Richard Posner and participated in the Federal Criminal Justice Clinic, which provides representation for criminal defendants in federal court.
