Kristi Wolff helps companies build, defend, and challenge advertising claims, with a particular focus on contested advertising, consumer protection, and regulatory enforcement matters.
A nationally recognized advertising, consumer protection, and product regulatory attorney, Kristi advises manufacturers, retailers, marketplaces, and consumer brands on advertising and product compliance issues across a broad range of industries. She has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers for her work in consumer protection and advertising law.
Kristi's practice spans claim substantiation, product testing, labeling, influencer and endorsement campaigns, consumer reviews, automatic renewal programs, Made in USA claims, environmental marketing claims, pricing and promotional practices, and other high-risk marketing initiatives. While she has particular depth in FDA-regulated products—including OTC drugs, dietary supplements, foods and beverages, cosmetics, pet food, consumer health technologies, and wearable devices—she regularly counsels clients on advertising and consumer protection issues involving a wide variety of consumer products and services.
Kristi regularly represents clients before the National Advertising Division (NAD), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and state attorneys general. Her experience includes defending advertising claims, responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations, managing competitor disputes, navigating enforcement matters, as well as developing substantiation strategies designed to withstand regulatory and competitive scrutiny. She also works closely with litigation teams in consumer class actions, bringing deep regulatory and scientific expertise to claims involving advertising, labeling, and product performance.
Drawing on more than a decade of private practice experience in Washington, D.C., as well as senior in-house legal roles with a Fortune 500 healthcare company and a Fortune 100 food manufacturer, Kristi provides practical, business-oriented counsel that reflects both legal requirements and commercial realities. Her experience on both sides of the table allows her to help clients navigate the intersection of advertising, product regulation, enforcement risk, and business objectives.
