NOVEMBER 1, 2012 – Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has been ranked in the top tier of law firms in the United States in ten practice areas by the magazine U.S. News and the respected survey organization Best Lawyers.
In listings posted today, U.S. News and Best Lawyers gave DWT a national first-tier ranking in the following areas of the law:
- Communications
- Copyright
- Employment (Representing Management)
- Energy
- Entertainment – Motion Pictures & Television
- Franchise
- Litigation – First Amendment
- Litigation – Labor & Employment
- Media and First Amendment
- Trademark
In local rankings, Davis Wright was placed in the first tier in nearly 70 practice areas across seven offices.
The rankings were determined based on surveys of thousands of clients and peer attorneys. Information is also gathered about the number of transactions and/or litigation matters at different dollar levels, as well the significance of legal matters undertaken. All of the data are combined to give an overall score for each firm, and to rank the firms by practice area, both locally and nationally.
This is the third year that Best Lawyers has partnered with U.S. News to produce the rankings.
