JANUARY 8, 2014 – John McGrory, a partner in the Portland, Ore., office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has been inducted as a fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the nation’s preeminent legal associations.
The induction ceremony took place at the College’s 2013 annual meeting in San Francisco.
Invitations to fellowship in the College are extended only to experienced trial lawyers in the U.S. and Canada who have mastered the art of advocacy and who adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Qualified lawyers are selected from among advocates for defendants or plaintiffs in civil proceedings of all types, as well as prosecutors and criminal defense lawyers. Membership in the College can never exceed 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.
McGrory focuses his practice on commercial and complex litigation, with an emphasis on antitrust, securities, and shareholder matters. He also represents officers, directors, and companies in connection with investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and state regulatory bodies. In addition to his courtroom experience, he regularly represents clients in arbitration and administrative proceedings.
McGrory is listed in the Chambers USA guide to "America’s Leading Lawyers for Business," and is also included in the Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers lists. He is a member of Davis Wright’s executive committee and chair of the Portland office's litigation department.
