MAY 29, 2019 – Saluting the firms that are "demonstrably forging a path to parity for female attorneys," Law360 published its annual list of Top Law Firms for Women, and ranked Davis Wright Tremaine #3 nationwide among firms of comparable size.
To be eligible for the list, firms had to report above-average representation of female attorneys at all levels: nonpartner, partner, and equity partner. Firms were then ranked against their peers. Davis Wright placed in the top three for firms with 300-599 lawyers.
"We have a woman as the chair of our executive committee, women leading several of our most nationally recognized practices, and women among our ten biggest rainmakers," said Lynn Loacker, Davis Wright's chair of Diversity & Inclusion and New York partner-in-charge. "We're working every day, through a variety of initiatives, to build on this success and achieve true parity—in our industry and in the business world at large."
This is the second year that Law360 has honored Davis Wright Tremaine for diversity success. Last year, the news site called the firm a "Ceiling Smasher," in recognition of the firm's high percentage of women equity partners.
Many other organizations have also recognized Davis Wright as a diversity leader. The firm was named to Working Mother magazine's list of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women each of the past five years and received Gold Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum each of the past eight. The firm also received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2019 Corporate Equality Index. Microsoft recently named Davis Wright the top performer in the company's 2018 Law Firm Diversity Program.
