MARCH 24, 2021 – A team of lawyers at Davis Wright Tremaine, led by Sarah Tune, chair of the firm's national corporate and business transactions practice, has advised Flynn Restaurant Group on its acquisition of 937 Pizza Hut and 194 Wendy's locations throughout the U.S. from NPC International.

Already the country's largest franchise operator, with a portfolio that includes Applebee's, Panera Bread, Taco Bell, and Arby's, Flynn Restaurant Group has nearly doubled its restaurant count as a result of this acquisition. The company now owns and operates restaurants generating $3.5 billion in sales and employing 73,000 people in 44 states.

"We're delighted to help our longtime client execute on its vision of being the premier franchise group in the restaurant industry," said Tune. "Nothing inspires our team more than helping bold clients achieve ambitious goals."

Tune and her deal team, nearly all of them women, have carved out a position of national leadership in advising large-scale, multi-brand franchisees as well as institutional investors investing in those businesses. The team has assisted Flynn Restaurant Group with a series of major acquisitions over the last decade, as the company grew to become one of the country's 20 largest in food service.

In 2019, Tune was named Middle Market Food & Beverage Dealmaker of the Year by The Deal, a leading New York publication covering corporate transactions. In 2020, she was named one of the Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A by Mergers & Acquisitions magazine. She and her team have significant experience handling deals in the fitness industry as well.

Tune serves as chair of Davis Wright's executive committee, where her work includes advancing the firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
