AUGUST 3, 2023 – Hope Levy-Biehl, co-chair of the healthcare practice group at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has been named to the Daily Journal's 2023 list of Top Health Care Lawyers in California.
"With more than 20 years of experience, [Levy-Biehl] has partnered with health care organizations to navigate complex regulations while achieving their business goals," the Daily Journal said.
The publication particularly noted Levy-Biehl's service as lead regulatory counsel to El Centro Regional Medical Center during a period of significant transition and lead regulatory counsel to Verity Health Systems during its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Levy-Biehl works with hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, and other providers and suppliers, managing day-to-day operations and addressing the corresponding legal issues that arise. She has become a "go-to" practitioner for businesses looking to understand their obligations in developing compliance strategies that address new legal and regulatory requirements.
Her experience also includes helping healthcare providers structure business transactions in a way that minimizes delays or interruptions in operations or payment. She advises clients on a wide range of healthcare payment and fraud and abuse matters, as well as on state and federal requirements governing the protection, privacy, and security of health information.
Levy-Biehl's previous honors include being named 2022 Health Care Lawyer of the Year in Los Angeles by Best Lawyers and a finalist for Trusted Advisor of the Year at the 2021 Los Angeles Business Journal Health Care Awards. This is her second consecutive year being named a Top Health Care Lawyer by the Daily Journal.
