JUNE 6, 2025 Victoria (Vicky) Slade, a partner in the employment services group at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, has been honored by two different Washington organizations for her extraordinary leadership in the LGBTQ+ community.

The Puget Sound Business Journal recognized Slade as an honoree in its 2025 Outstanding Voices Awards, which recognize "leaders who have used their voices to push for change, create opportunities and promote inclusion." Slade was celebrated with the other honorees at the PSBJ's Business of Pride gala event last night in Seattle and was featured in a full-page profile in this week's edition of the PSBJ.

Slade was also recently presented with the 2025 President's Award by QLaw Association, the LGBTQ+ bar association of Washington. This award is given annually to a member of the legal community who has a demonstrated track record of commitment to supporting equality and inclusion within the state and beyond.

"We could not be prouder of Vicky," said Jaime Drozd, firmwide managing partner at Davis Wright Tremaine. "She exemplifies all of the highest values of our firm—a dedication to outstanding client service and industry-leading excellence, commitment to the well-being of her colleagues, and determination to create a more just and equitable community."

Slade has extensive experience guiding employers through complex personnel issues. While she works across the full gamut of employment law, she told the PSBJ she has a special focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. "I partner with employers to help them understand the changing legal landscape related to DEI so they can continue to advance this work while staying compliant with the law," she said. "I also take great pride in my work representing employers in disputes arising out of or legal challenges related to those programs."

Earlier this year Slade was recognized in American Lawyer's "Litigators of the Week" column for her successful defense of the city of Seattle in a lawsuit by an ex-employee claiming the city's DEI programs, including its employee affinity groups, were discriminatory. The suit was dismissed with prejudice.

Slade gives her time in pro bono and community service projects. She has worked alongside numerous nonprofits, including the ACLU, Appleseed, Team Child, Legal Voice, the Tenants Union, Columbia Legal Services, and the QLaw Foundation. The National LGBT Bar Association named her to its 2020 class of the country's 40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40.
