OCT. 28, 2026 – Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, a nationally recognized leader in legal services innovation, is proud to announce a new peer-learning AI program that brings lawyers together to explore where AI meets the human side of the profession. The firm developed the training in collaboration with Keep Company, a platform that enables organizations to build and scale relationship-based people programs.

The pilot program will bring together approximately 70 participants of varying experience levels from across DWT's practice groups and offices. They will meet virtually for six sessions, in cohorts of eight to 10, and be led by external coaches trained to help people navigate change. Beginning in late October and running through the end of the year, the cohorts will focus on approaching AI with an inventive mindset, leading change internally, expanding what's possible through experimentation, and determining what must remain human in the practice of law.

Throughout the pilot, DWT will track changes in AI usage and establish firm-specific baselines to understand what's working. The firm will use those insights to shape how it supports future AI learning and adoption across the firm.

"At DWT, we believe that people learn best from each other. This program is about creating the conditions for peer learning to happen, with a focus on developing talent, not just technology," said Yusuf Zakir, chief talent and inclusion officer at DWT. "AI and human relationships are mutually reinforcing, and this pilot will help us create a genuine and lasting advantage in developing the lawyers of tomorrow."

The collaboration took shape after Zakir argued for the importance of a human-focused approach to AI in The American Lawyer, prompting Keep Company to approach the firm. The two organizations had previously partnered on peer programming for parents and caregivers at DWT.

"Human connection has always been essential for a successful law firm, and AI has only made it more important," said Adrienne Prentice, co-founder and CEO of Keep Company. "DWT has put its people at the center of how it adopts AI from the start. We couldn't ask for a better partner for this program."

DWT is widely recognized as a leader in the AI space. DWT Prose, an in-house AI writing coach that Zakir helped design, earned the firm recognition from the Financial Times, which named DWT a standout North American firm for Innovation in Digitizing Legal Practice in 2024. The firm's Crescendo engine, which turns official forms into conversational, chat-based interviews to help clients feel heard in sensitive situations, was named ILTA's 2025 Transformative Project of the Year.
