The Scam Justice Legal Clinic (SJLC) is the first-of-its-kind pro bono initiative dedicated to providing free legal assistance to victims of online scams. As digital fraud becomes increasingly sophisticated, many individuals find themselves without the knowledge or resources to respond effectively. SJLC empowers victims by helping them understand their legal options, document their cases, and take proactive steps to protect themselves.
At SJLC, attendees receive:

- Support in collecting and documenting evidence: Assistance in compiling key information required for law enforcement, financial institutions, and consumer protection agencies.

Referral Sources
Clients will be referred to the Scam Justice Legal Clinic through the Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust. While not a consumer protection organization, BBB Institute works closely with government agencies, businesses, and nonprofits to combat fraud, educate consumers, and promote ethical business practices.
