DWT to Present Webinar on FCC E-rate Modernization Proceeding
The FCC’s recent E-rate modernization order is the first significant effort to reform the program since its inception in 1997, and was adopted amidst dissension among FCC commissioners and public controversy. It also included a further notice of proposed rulemaking. The public has been invited to provide comment on such issues as whether the FCC should permanently increase funding for the program. Comments are due by September 15 and reply comments by Sept. 30. Please join members of DWT’s E-rate team for a webinar on Sept. 23, 2014 at 1:00 Eastern, where we will provide an analysis of what the new changes mean for service providers, schools and libraries, and a look ahead to further orders and rule changes at the FCC.
