The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has released an updated poster that employers are required to prominently display in their workplaces. This poster replaces the "EEO is the Law" poster. The EEOC website notes that the current version was posted on October 20, 2022, and replaces a version that had been posted on October 19. The poster is available in English and Spanish and will be available in additional languages at a later date.

The new poster includes some additional information regarding Federal laws prohibiting job discrimination. One important change is the inclusion of a "QR" code that applicants or employees can use to link directly to the EEOC's instructions for how to file a charge of workplace discrimination. In addition, the new "Know Your Rights" poster states that harassment is a prohibited form of discrimination; that sex discrimination includes discrimination based on pregnancy and related conditions, as well as sexual orientation and gender identity; and provides information about equal pay and discrimination for federal contractors.

Next steps: Employers should download the new poster and display it prominently in the workplace, removing the prior "EEOC is the Law" poster. Employers should also send a copy to employees who work remotely.
