Family Owned Businesses in Denial?

How well managed is your family business?

Dan Scouler wrote in the Entrepreneur recently that it is probably not that well managed. He suggests that family businesses represent more than 60% of the U.S. workforce and account for 90% of all businesses in North America, but are still often poorly managed because they are in denial about scalability and longevity.

We would suggest our family business clients are actually quite well managed, but his critiques are interesting and food for thought, nonetheless.
