PayPal has recently released its newly-updated Android app version 3.0, which allows peer-to-peer (P2P) payments to be made using any near field communications (NFC) enabled mobile phones.  Friends with any NFC-enabled devices running the Android operating system can tap their phones to directly exchange money using the PayPal app with the Request Money widget installed.  To make the P2P payment work, one person can enter the requested amount into the app and tap their phone to their friend’s phone.  The request appears on the friend’s phone, and the friend can then enter their PIN and confirm the transfer.
