The biennial Media Law Conference is the most substantive and effective conference for experienced media defense lawyers. The conference focuses on the practical aspects of media law and litigation, with a mix of plenary, break-out, and boutique sessions on a wide variety of topics.

DWT partner Peter Karanjia took part in a presentation entitled “The FCC and the 21st Century Media Marketplace.” Topics included:

  • What did the D.C. Circuit decide in the net neutrality case, what are the odds of Supreme Court review, and what does neutrality mean for online content providers?
  • What's at stake in the FCC’s ongoing proceeding regarding privacy rules for ISPs?
  • Why is Google fighting the cable industry and content companies over set-top boxes, and what are the implications for copyright protection of programming?
  • What's the latest news on the FCC's media ownership rules?
