Women in Nonprofit (WiN), Event Series, Davis Wright Tremaine
The goal of WiN is to build the preeminent community for women directors, in-house counsel, management, and advisors of nonprofit organizations in New York City.
The group was first organized by DWT in 2015, as the firm’s tax-exempt organizations and employment practice groups celebrated the addition of several experienced lawyers to our New York office, many of them women. WiN provides a forum for women in the world of New York nonprofits to connect, share ideas, and develop relationships, through substantive programming and networking opportunities.

Building on the success of WiN in New York, DWT launched a network for professional women involved in the nonprofit community in and around Washington, D.C. The first WiN event featured guest speaker, Patty Mullahy Fugere, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.

The Legal Clinic provides pro bono civil legal assistance to homeless families and individuals in the District of Columbia. Prior to assuming this position, she served as president of the Legal Clinic's board of directors and was in private practice with the law firm of Reno, Cavanaugh & Hornig, focusing on affordable housing law and homelessness issues.
Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Education for Girls

Two well-known nonprofit leaders who are tireless advocates of STEM education for girls spoke at this event. The forum included a presentation and group discussion, followed by a networking reception.

Jessica Lawrence Quinn, CEO of NY Tech Alliance
The NY Tech Alliance is a nonprofit organization supporting New York’s growing technology community and is also the organizer of NY Tech Meetup, the world’s largest Meetup group. Prior to joining the NY Tech Alliance, Ms. Quinn was the CEO of Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council in Southern California, where she supported a community of 75 staff, 5,000 volunteers, and 15,000 girls. Ms. Quinn was one of only 15 women selected to participate in Seth Godin’s Female Entrepreneur MBA (FeMBA) in 2010. Ms. Quinn’s writing has been featured on the Harvard Business Review blog, Forbes.com, The Next Web, The Huffington Post and in a weekly column in The Press-Enterprise. She also speaks frequently on the tech sector, the future of work, and organizational development and culture at events such as PopTech, SXSW, and TEDx.
Joanna Geraghty, President of the JetBlue Foundation and Executive Vice President, Customer Experience of JetBlue Airways
The JetBlue Foundation was created in 2013 in an effort to support aviation-related education and community outreach. One of the Foundation’s main focuses is STEM education, particularly for girls and underserved populations. Ms. Geraghty has been with JetBlue since 2005 and in May 2014 she assumed responsibility for airports, customer support (reservations), and inflight service, the airline’s main customer-facing teams. From 2010-2014, Ms. Geraghty served as JetBlue’s Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer, and prior to that was the airline’s Vice President and Associate General Counsel and Director of Litigation and Regulatory Affairs.
