The Department of Defense continues to be concerned about the cybersecurity risks associated with defense contractors, with tier subcontractors presenting some of the biggest potential dangers. This program helped executive and operational level managers for small to midsize defense contractors understand the risks, changing requirements, and most importantly, solutions to keep your business safe and compliant.

Topics included:

  • Cybersecurity as part of an overall risk management plan
  • Key questions to ask your IT staff, operational managers, and third-party vendors to assure basic cybersecurity and compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Overview of the Department of Defense's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification to be released in early 2020 - this new tiered cybersecurity program for contractors (prime and subcontractors) will build upon existing regulation in DFARS 252.204-7012 and add audits to assure compliance with cybersecurity standards
  • Contractual and legal considerations in your cybersecurity program
