DWT partners Louisa Barash, and Dan Waggoner were among the co-chairs who served during DWT's annual exploration of cutting-edge legal, business, and technology issues in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and the Cloud. As with many events this year, DWT adapted the standard day-long conference to be a 2 and a half-hour webinar of virtual presentations. The day featured an exploration of the latest in government secrecy and surveillance, and included a new session on litigation developments in copyright law and the evolving debate on Section 230.
As these sectors become more active and important for technology law and policy, DWT will continue to explore fast developing issues related to AI and biometrics, and take deep dives into how best to align the evolving California consumer privacy law with state, federal US and EU activity into a coherent privacy framework.
