The effects of COVID-19 have been particularly devastating to the restaurant industry. During this difficult time, many restaurants have shuttered. Others have scrambled to find ways to generate income. Canlis, one of Seattle's best and most well-known high-end restaurants, has blossomed, converting (temporarily) into a hamburger shack, a drive-in, a crab shack and a village of yurts, while at the same time launching a "community college." All of this has been with the goal of keeping the community—whether employees, vendors, or customers—engaged.

Canlis, owned by brothers and third-generation restauranteurs Mark Canlis and Brian Canlis, is prepared to come out of 2020 strong and ready to welcome guests back inside (when permitted). Join Mark Canlis for a discussion regarding:

  • Making the business your own and distinguishing from the prior generation
  • Reinvention
  • How mission and values drive culture – and the ability to do just about anything you want
