Xelef Botan is a communications law attorney focusing on regulatory compliance, telecommunications, and technology policy. He advises clients on navigating complex legal issues at the intersection of communications and emerging technologies, including AI governance and consumer protection matters.
Previously a policy analyst for the NTIA, Xelef contributed to major policy reports on AI accountability, as well as matters involving the agency's 6G Initiative and analysis of the EU Digital Services Act. Xelef has also worked with the Colorado Attorney General's Office on consumer protection investigations and related matters.
Leveraging a background in telecommunications and policy analysis, Xelef is adept at handling legal and regulatory matters for businesses of all sizes. He has represented clients in civil litigation, business disputes, and compliance investigations.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School and completed the Technology Media Telecommunications Certificate Program, which was organized by The Tech Bar (formerly the Federal Communications Bar Association). Fluent in multiple languages and experienced in global policy development, Xelef brings an international perspective to his communications law practice.
