Xiaochen Chen advises and defends employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including wage-and-hour matters, EEOC claims, and actions under California's PAGA and FEHA laws. She has prepared comprehensive federal, California, and multi-state employee handbooks for various industries. When litigation arises, Xiaochen vigorously prepares her clients to combat claims, providing the full range of litigation services from pretrial filings through discovery, trial, settlement negotiations, and appeals. She also provides guidance in Chinese regarding litigation, compliance, and immigration matters, as well as on-site employment training. While obtaining her J.D., Xiaochen gained extensive mediation experience at USC, where she conducted mediations for the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (now the Civil Rights Department) and the EEOC.
