Ben Gipson
Partner
With over two decades of experience, Ben Gipson is a trusted advisor to clients navigating employment challenges at every stage of their development. He supports businesses in all areas including the technology, media, sports, and entertainment sectors, focusing on employment issues arising from transactions both on the West Coast and nationwide. Ben's proactive approach includes conducting trainings, audits, and policy revisions to help clients manage their workforces effectively and minimize litigation risks.
Ben leads and manages defense teams in class action and single-plaintiff employment litigation, representing employers in high-stakes cases involving wage-and-hour disputes, WARN class actions, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, breach of employment contracts, whistleblowing claims, breaches of confidentiality and trade secret protections, and other issues. His extensive experience spans appearances before state and federal courts as well as agencies including the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission, the California Labor Commissioner, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
In addition to litigation, Ben is highly skilled in conducting sensitive workplace investigations, addressing high-profile allegations of misconduct with urgency and precision. Collaborating with cross-practice teams that include former prosecutors, Ben advises clients on internal and external communications in concert with other stakeholders and advisors, crafts remedial actions, and develops forward-looking practices to mitigate risks. His ability to anticipate challenges and execute risk management strategies has made him a valuable partner to organizations at all stages of growth.
Ben is deeply committed to community engagement and nonprofit leadership. He serves on the Human Resources Committee for the Northwest African American Museum, where he also provides employment counsel, and has held board positions with the Positive Coaching Alliance and Big City Mountaineers, including serving as board president for the latter. Ben's dedication to fostering positive change extends beyond his legal practice, reflecting his passion for supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact.
