Olivier Jamin advises clients on environmental, energy, and land use matters, helping them navigate complex permitting and regulatory frameworks to advance projects, manage risk, and align environmental strategy with business objectives. He works with developers, landowners, and companies across regulated industries on environmental due diligence for complex real estate and energy transactions, as well as land use and environmental permitting for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Olivier is known for translating evolving regulatory requirements into practical, workable solutions that allow clients to move projects forward efficiently while addressing environmental and community considerations.

His practice also includes advising on emerging sustainability and climate-related issues, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs, and representing clients in enforcement, remediation, and cleanup matters under state and federal environmental laws. Drawing on deep experience in water, climate, and environmental policy, Olivier helps clients navigate high-stakes regulatory environments, assess long-term risks , and position projects and operations for durable success.

Practice Highlights

Water infrastructure and water sharing agreements

In a world increasingly impacted by drought and water scarcity, Olivier crafts water infrastructure agreements between private and public entities to modernize water infrastructure and maximize efficient use of an essential resource. He also works with private landowners to enter into practical water sharing agreements and secure adequate water supplies for his clients.

Sustainability and climate issues

Olivier advises clients on emerging state and federal climate and sustainability policy developments, helping them understand evolving requirements and implement practical compliance and risk-management strategies. As part of this work, Olivier counsels clients on policy and compliance issues related to EPR programs around the country.

Environmental and land use permitting, compliance, remediation and litigation

Olivier works on contaminated sites to investigate and delineate legacy contamination and implement remediation measures to ensure protection of human health and the environment. He represents clients in litigation associated with the Portland Harbor Superfund Site, the largest in the country, and works with clients and consultants to assess legacy liability associated with current and former sites, and to assess potential claims against other potential responsible parties. Olivier also works with renewable energy developers, wineries, and college campuses to craft land use permitting strategies and prepare applications at the city, county, or state level, and in proceedings before the Land Use Board of Appeals.
