Rachel Kashani, a litigator specializing in arbitration at DWT, is an accomplished legal counsel with substantial experience representing clients in all facets of commercial and civil litigation. Rachel has a proven track record of managing and resolving complex, high-dollar disputes for corporate clients on issues including product liability, consumer protections, fraud, false advertising, breach of contract, and tortious interference. She has obtained summary judgments on behalf of national corporations in multiple consumer cases.

Rachel has managed all stages of the litigation process in state and federal court, as well as in settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration. She has coordinated large-scale discovery and e-discovery processes, drafted responses, managed case deadlines and filings, participated in court conferences, handled depositions, and prepared pleadings, motions, and trial briefs.

Her background also includes legal representation of employees in workers' compensation cases and families in immigration matters, including removal defense and asylum. Rachel served in leadership roles before joining DWT, supervising junior attorneys and paralegals. She has practiced in various areas of law, including employment, corporate formations, trusts, probate, real estate transactions, tax planning, and premises liability.

Represented Medical Investor Holdings, LLC, in defending claims brought by Francine Shulman for alleged harms to her cannabis business through acts of mail and wire fraud by a former business partner, Medical Investor Holdings, LLC, under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act ("RICO"). Obtained Order affirming the district court's order to dismiss Appellant's RICO claims due to lack of standing under Article III. 58 F.4th 202 (9th Cir. 2023)

Michael Sexton v. BMW North America, LLC, et al.*

Obtained summary judgment on behalf of client, BMW of North America, LLC, in a breach of express and implied warranties case under the Song-Beverly Warrant Act. Court granted BMW's Motion for Summary Judgment on the basis of federal preemption. Case No. CGC-17-559236.
