Eric Lamm is a member of DWT's media group where he advocates on behalf of clients in First Amendment, copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property matters. He is passionate about protecting clients' creative and expressive freedoms, inside and outside of the courtroom.
In providing counseling services, Eric works to minimize risk without sacrificing the integrity of his clients' content. When litigation arises, Eric draws on his broad experience handling disputes over intellectual property as well as defamation, fraud, breach of contract, unfair business practices, and corporate, partnership, and limited liability company issues to provide precise solutions and vigorous, intelligent advocacy.
Pre-distribution and production counseling and IP advice for motion pictures, video games, and documentaries
Regularly counsels the producers of feature-length films, video games, and documentaries, regarding right of publicity, life rights, copyright, trademark, and defamation issues, often on projects that tackle sensitive topics and involve substantial fair use issues. Representative projects include "Freaknik: The Wildest Story Never Told," "This Place Rules," "Pepsi, Where's My Jet?" "Sometimes When We Touch," "I Wanna Rock: The 80s Metal Dream," "Queen of Cocaine," "Queen of Crypto," "Suburban Nightmare: JonBenet Ramsay," "Murder in Paradise: The Suitcase," "Fresh Meat: Killing Dahmer," and "Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me."
Pre-broadcast and production counseling and IP advice for various television series, pilots, and podcasts
Regularly counsels on rights, pre-broadcast, advertising, and promotions issues, and related services for production companies, television networks and other content services. Representative projects include "Rap Caviar Presents," "Murdered by Morning," "Forbidden Fruits with Julia Fox and Niki Takesh," "Sinister Societies," "Buried in the Backyard," "60 Songs that Explain the 90s," "Trafficked: The Podcast," and "VOIR."

Counsel for The Weeknd, co-songwriters, and other defendants in copyright infringement action over hit song "Call Out My Name."
Brown, et al. v. Roc Nation, et al.
Successfully defended Sony Music Entertainment Digital LLC in copyright infringement action over ASAP Ferg's "Plain Jane" and HitKidd and GloRilla's "FnF."
Jane Doe v. JLP Pictures, Inc., et al.
Counsel for defendants in action for infliction of emotional distress arising out of alleged use of plaintiff's song at Fenty fashion show.
