Emilie Woodhead
Partner
Emilie Woodhead represents clients in complex employment litigation and provides strategic counseling on compliance with California and federal labor laws. With more than two decades of experience, she focuses on wage-and-hour class and collective actions. She defends companies against claims involving employee and independent contractor misclassification, off-the-clock work, meal and rest period compliance, expense reimbursement, unpaid vacation, suitable seating requirements, and calculation of the regular rate of pay, as well as claims brought under California's Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).
Emilie has an excellent track record of defeating class and collective claims, both in California matters and in nationwide Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) cases. In addition to complex class litigation, Emilie handles single-plaintiff matters involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. She has obtained summary judgment for employers in multiple cases.
Emilie also advises organizations on employment compliance by developing workplace policies, drafting employment agreements, and guiding employers through evolving regulatory requirements.
