JUNE 15, 2022 – In the latest Diversity Scorecard from The American Lawyer, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP placed at No. 33, a gain of 71 spots over last year.

"We are resolutely focused on building a firm where everyone, including those traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession, can have, and can see, a path to success," said Yusuf Zakir, the firm's chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer. "The progress we've made so far heightens our determination and affirms that, with a strong commitment, progress is possible."

"We are proud of how far we have come, but realize we still have much work to do," said Scott MacCormack, Davis Wright's managing partner. "We are committed as a firm to continuing the work, intentionally and meaningfully."

The American Lawyer revised its methodology this year to highlight how firms are creating pathways for the long-term success of their diverse attorney talent. Firms were ranked in a series of metrics assessing racial and ethnic diversity across their leadership, equity partners, and other attorneys.

Davis Wright's strong showing on the Diversity Scorecard is the latest recognition for the firm's ongoing commitment to creating a firmwide culture of inclusion. The firm was recently named a finalist for Outstanding Firm at the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America, honored as an Inclusion Champion by Diversity Lab, and named "Mid-Size Company of the Year" at the Los Angeles Business Journal's 2022 DEI Awards.
